Well tomorrow I'm going on a road trip from Nebraska to New York. Starting in Omaha and all though Iowa and most of Illinois the forecast is great, however, in eastern Illinois, and Ohio the forecast is severe storms with a threat for strong winds, large hail, and the possibility of rotation and isolated tornadoes. Then the next day from Toledo to New York the next day the whole area we're driving through has severe weather predictions. Should I be concerned about this at all? Complicated back story but I will try to sum it up. My parents were together for nearly twenty years they split up when I was 6. But they didn't move into separate homes just separate bedrooms. After this she came "back" into our lives looking for love from us but then became enamored with a young dj (he was 29 she was 50). She married him and her life became all about him. At this time she had nothing (no assets within the US) besides a lucrative business that does generate money but only if she is there working and had to start from scratch so she started doing what all pretend rich people do. Renting fancy houses driving nice cars but no cash anywhere. Or so we thought! Come to find out she built a club for her husband nearly 5 years ago. Everything was for him. So I'm kind of stuck in a bit of a rut and I keep playing mind games with myself about how I will never have a good life with the degree I earned. While I was attending school I tended to find myself trying to have fun more so than hitting the books and really learning about my major. I did party a lot but managed to get a 3.1 gpa and a degree in sport and entertainment management in 4 years from the U of South Carolina. But after I attained my degree is when reality struck and I realized that I was stuck with my career choice. In completing my degree we had to do 2 internships in order to network ourselves into our career field. Like a dumb *** I chose the good ole YMCA and it's lucrative careers.....(sarcasm). So now I'm stuck with a degree I dislike and no good connections. It's been a year since I graduated and I'm working s**t job's to pay my car insurance so my parents don't kick me out of the house. Hello, so I recently (almost 2 months in July 9) got a job at a toy company. I was hired as a Day Porter at this toy company. But I was hired by a facility services company, not the toy company. I was never asked to fill out an application, nothing. They didn't even know y name, phone number, address, NOTHING. They hired me, gave me a job. I accepted because it was my cousins wife's job, so I thought it would be safe. When it came time to pay me (Monthly btw) I was told by the "manager" that I wouldn't be payed until the 26th of June. (I started working may 9 2011) and I was expecting them to pay me May 9 2011- June 26th. That's what the guy told me. When he payed me (gave me a personal check that was labeled House Cleaning Services) I was ONLY payed for the month of may. Turns out they were going to pay me a month behind. meaning they'd owe me a month every month. I didn't like that so I complained and they accused and threatened me. they said "We know you're an illegal immigrant." They insulted me, told me that I was going to fix everything (since I complained to the toy company, I didn't think it was fair that that's toy company was paying the facility service company to hire employees and pay them). Turns out EVERY janitor/day porter is an illegal immigrant. Not me. Even the manager guy who gives out these personal checks. The facility service company contacted me and told me to fix this and basically apologize. They said they knew I was illegal (im not btw wtf) and that I wouldn't want to get involved with homeland security and ice. My question is, is this legal? supposedly the facility company hired sub contractors. Is it legal to know your employees are illegal and still pay them? HELP!

My Son is 2 months old. From the moment my Son was born I saw a sacral dimple on my Son's spine and his left foot is slightly deformed (hip Dysplasia). When I was at the hospital I asked the on call Pediatrician about it and he said my Son looked fine. As weeks went on it bothered me and I made our regular pediatrician aware of my discovery. Our Ped was very concerned about both conditions. We're now being sent to a nuerologist and a Ped orthopedic Doc. Would I have a case against the Dr. that was at the Hospital I gave birth at? Now looking back the Ped at the Hospital kind of blew me off. I feel like my Son was not properly examined. Thank you

Family care plan separation...retirement years...E-5?

I've served for 13 years and four deployments. After my last tour my wife of 13 years decided she wanted nothing more to do with me or our children. She was apparently very lonely while i was away and moved in with her current boyfriend before we are even completely divorced. As far as family care plans are concerned...well I don't have one. Be sure to change your oil as it breaks down over time even when not being used, check your tires for dryrot since it has been sitting, look for any cracks in the tread or sidewall and if there is any have the tires replaced. Inspect your engine air filter to make sure no critters have set up a home in there since the vehicle has been sitting. Take it to any oil change facility and they should be able to do this for you. Getting back together for the kids- Military?

I have an incredible friend who is torn right now. He left his 12 year marriage 5 years ago to be with another woman. (Not me, I am just his friend) but they broke up last year. He stayed very close with his 3 daughters aged now 8-13, and friendly now with his ex wife. (they never divorced due to military benefits) the issue is now, he is seriously considering reconciling with his ex wife, living together as a family for the sake of the girls- but not 'together' (he said that part of the marriage is dead and buried.) I want him to seek therapy- as does he, but due to his very senior ranking in the military it is not possible for him to seek therapy without it potentially tarnishing his record. He is suffering with doubt and confusion as he adores his daughters, and is concerned that him not living with them will damage them in the future, as well as the fact they do not have a Dad in their day to day life. The Mum has not re partnered, and is obviously open to the idea of reconciling 'for the kids'. Obviously I do not know the nitty gritty, but he is really struggling, and I am hoping someone out there can help, as he needs it. Even another voice and opinion, as he has no one to discuss this with, and has little experience with divorce etc. I have plenty of opinions on the matter, growing up as a child of divorce, as well as being divorced and having a grown child. Again, I am not vested in this situation, from a romantic viewpoint, he is my friend, I just want him to be happy, and I do not think he can see straight regarding the matter, and my personal opinion is that he could do more damage going back, having the girls have him, seeing a loveless marriage and him possibly leaving again> Thoughts, much appreciated, from all viewpoints. I've tried so many overactive bladder medications. The one I'm on now seemed to work for 4 months, and I thought I had a magic pill, but today it feels like there is so much pressure on my bladder. I have been up to go about 10 times today. It was up to 20 one day. The doctor said I had 50 or more polyps in my bladder and said it was the most he's ever seen in his practice. I have to go so often at work. Do they usually rule out things like interstitial cystitis when they do a cystoscopy? Or could I still have that? I want to work and go back to school, but I am not fully functional. If it is overactive bladder, what do I need to do to get reasonable accommodation and is it considered a disability? What would be reasonable? I still want to work and go to school even if I have interstitial cystitis. My friend claims to have it and he (yes, I know it's more common for females to have it) is on disability and does not work at all, but I still want to work, but I don't know if anyone will let me work a fast-paced job or do clinical rotations in nursing school if I'm going this much.

Should i be ashamed of my figure skating?

I'm 13 and I'm going to high school in the fall, and I haven't even landed my single axel. Everyone tells me it isn't my fault, because my mom hardly takes me skating while my friend who landed hers goes 5 times a week, i barely make 2 times a week. I started skating when I was 5, but after i got into Beta I moved and didn't skate again till i was 7. Then my mom stopped taking me a lot so I started again in about 6th grade. I actually started skating, though, in the middle of seventh grade (half hour private lessons with my coach, freestyle sessions for better skaters, and I was in freestyle 5). I've been working on axel for nearly a year, and I haven't landed it!!! I go about twice a week. On Wednesday, I skate for about half an hour, then do ballet for half an hour (we mostly stretch or work on balance, I'm not on pointe yet) then I skate for another half hour or hour. On Friday, I skate for about a half hour in the freestyle session for my level, then the public session for everyone for a half hour. I try to stretch at home and do off-ice also. Sometimes though my mom doesn't even take me these two days! I also haven't had a coach for a few months. I can do an ok-camel spin, my sit is very good on occasion but I often travel, an ok-backscratch that's kinda short though, and my other jumps are very good. I can do an outside spread eagle, bauer, Ina bauer where you lean back, and I'm the only one at my rink who can do an outside bauer, or perhaps even an Ina bauer, including the elite skaters. But still, should I be ashamed when skating in the freestyle session because I can't do any good jumps like axel and my spins aren't that great either and the only thing I can do is footwork? Please help I don't even like to practice the few times I do skate because I'm so ashamed compared to the other skaters:( Also, any tips on landing the axel? I used to be better when I had a coach I'd land in the landing position just need a quarter of rotation left, now I don't rotate all the way and just open my arms. I am 18, college-bound for the fall, and I can't decide on where I see myself. My original plan was to head into law, but I did my research and learned, to my dismay, that law is a very very popular career choice. Second I considered Computer Engineering and Science but than I had a peek into the past and remembered how poorly I did in my High School math classes and then foresaw a future of pain and stress for the next four years as CE or CS major. Nobody's my friend. Hi, should I change my perspective on people? Here's my situation..?

I always find myself to be the guy who's looking to chat with friends, etc.. and make new ones, whether at school or in outside activities. But I find it rare that people have sought me out to genuinely see how I'm doing or ask to meet up to hang out. I find this happened in the workplace too (I'm currently in between jobs). I feel a bit tired of searching people out and saying "hey want to do this or that - hit a pub, etc.." since I find myself the one who asks this often. I have seen some 'friends' answer back with a certain "I guess..sure" answer (they don't reply with an uplifting tone). And sometimes some people don't even reply back or I have to contact them multiple times (email, telephone) before they confirm. So, yeah it does look kind of sad. Actually, not even kind of. My question thus is: should I stop 'taking the initiative' and see, next time, if my 'friends' or 'colleagues' call the first shot in regard to making plans to get together? I don't want to be anti-social, especially now, since as a job hunter, I hear from career coaches that networking is the number way to land a position these days. But at the same time, I don't want to feel that I'm this annoying friend of someone's. I don't want to be that guy who when one picks up the phone or reads his email, the person is thinking 'oh man, not him... ". Definitely go the medcine route. Sure it may seem like a lot of time & years but in the end, it will be so worth it. There are people who are 50 yrs old and in med school. I'm 23 and thought about going the lpn route and going to nursing school but knew that at the end of the day I wanted to become a doctor & don't want to live regretting my decision to not pursue medicine. Enroll in college, take the prereqs, and ace the mcat. I would work as a massage therapist while in school so that you have money coming in. Also try applying for osteopathic medical schools as they cater to nontraditional students and might look favorably on your massage therapy background. It may seem like a long road ahead but those years go by fast & before you know it you'll be earning that medical degree. Best of luck!
