Family care plan separation...retirement years...E-5?
I've served for 13 years and four deployments. After my last tour my wife of 13 years decided she wanted nothing more to do with me or our children. She was apparently very lonely while i was away and moved in with her current boyfriend before we are even completely divorced. As far as family care plans are concerned...well I don't have one. I've been reading all the questions and answers regarding severance pay and benefits. Its nice to see so many people assuming that every person getting separated for this reason is just trying to take the easy way out. I could care less about severance pay. I'm only interested in trying to take my retirement years with me to another DoD job or equivalent. I'm too old and stupid for college. My father is about the only person that could watch my kids and hes 70 and had a quadruple bypass so lets be reasonable. I'd be getting separated soon anyway for RCP reasons anyway. Do I get to take my service years with me or not? I dont want to throw them away just because I did not realize who I married 13 years ago.
