How much do history professors make in Canada?

Your question raises a number of considerations. The first point is that you should never aim for any career, no matter what it is, if your primary motivation is money. No matter how high the salary, it will never be enough. You need to be in a field because you love it. Many of the points you make in your question refer to money, and despite the fact that you say you "love" history, I suspect that there is no job in that field which sill satisfy you. Historians and history teachers don't make a lot of money, and that's just a fact. They do what they do because they truly love it. It's easy to say you "love" a study, but you don't really unless you are willing to do it regardless of the pay. When you can say to yourself, "I'd rather teach history and be poor than work in an insurance office and be rich," then, and only then, can you honestly say you "love" history. And as for the rest of it, it is absolutely impossible to predict how much any particular profession will pay. It all depends on where you are, what the demand is for what you do, how good you are at it, and numerous other factors. Some dentists are rich. Others aren't. Some lawyers barely make a go of it, while others live in the penthouse. Same for history teachers. There is no way to tell what kind of money you could make.
