Why is there a trend of bitter/depressed/mechanical people in life (Western Nations)?

They may have rejected (a long time ago) what they never could have. Or, you could be being patronizing without realizing it. You seem upfront about who you are on paper, but can you describe the essence of your demeanor? (Not many can do this objectively, right?) In what context are these people offended with you? At your job? At school? You may be enjoying working on becoming educated, and may be so immersed in that that you can't feel where anyone else is at in their heads, especially outside of the academic environment.
